Pre-Technology (A College Prep Programme)

OVERVIEW OF THE PRE-TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMME

University of The Bahamas (UB) offers a one-year college preparatory programme, called the Pre-Technology Programme, for students who wish to enter university level technical programmes, but who do not meet the minimum admission requirements for direct entry into them. Students will undertake college prep courses in Math, English, Engineering Science I and II, Technical Drawing, Chemistry, Pre-Technology Seminar and Student Development Seminar.

Please note the following:

  • some students may be exempted from some Pre-Technology courses, as explained here, and
  • COUN 001 is now replaced by COUN 100 and is required of all students whether part-time or full-time.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PRE-TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMME

The entrance requirements to the Pre-Technology Programme are identical to UB's  entry requirements into the College Preparatory Programme (College Prep). Applicants must have at least two BGCSEs or equivalent passes with 'C' grades or higher and BGCSE or equivalent English and Mathematics passes with at least an 'E' grade or a combined SAT score of at least 600 if taken during or prior to 2005 or a combined SAT score of at least 600 on the Math and Verbal components if taken after 2005.
